Heimdall, for the military

A local perception concept for difficult environments.

Heimdall is a concept for eyewear paired with body-worn sensors. The proposed system would present selected local cues, explore silent communication, share limited awareness across a squad, and use a separate passive receiver to estimate the direction of selected drone signals.

Proposed capabilities

Four areas for validation.

01 / Perception

Local cues through poor visibility

Body-worn radar is being considered for motion cues through smoke, dust, and selected interior obstructions. Material limits, range, resolution, and field performance still require validation.

02 / Sound

Silent communication research

The concept explores whether precise facial and muscle motion can support short, predefined callouts without an open microphone. Accuracy and operational use have not been validated.

03 / Squad link

Selected context for the team

An encrypted local link could share approved state changes such as heading, relative distance, and selected telemetry without requiring a cloud service. This communications link is separate from V2X.

04 / Drones

Passive direction finding

A separate passive receiver could listen for selected UAS signals and estimate direction of arrival. Passive detection does not transmit a radar pulse, although other team communications may still transmit.

Hephaestus concept

The same eyewear, in the maintenance bay.

The proposed maintenance application would place selected technical guidance in a technician's view, compare tool readings with approved specifications, and keep essential reference material available without a cloud connection.

The manual, in your eye

Both hands stay on the tools.

Wiring diagrams, hydraulic routing, and part schematics drawn over the equipment itself. Next step, torque spec, or pressure limit by silent voice command.

A cue before the mistake

The display checks the reading.

A future local tool link could compare supported torque wrench and gauge readings with an approved specification. The display could then flag a sequence or limit error for the technician.

Cloud-independent reference

Essential material stays local.

The concept stores approved manuals, parts catalogs, and diagnostic trees on the device. Signed maintenance records could sync after an authorized network connection returns.

Concept application. Built on the Heimdall optical and compute baseline.

Design boundary

Local by design.

Heimdall is a concept system built around short-range sensing, limited telemetry, and brief cues. Real performance depends on validated hardware, authorized deployment, and field testing.
